Overview

Allworth Financial is an SEC-registered investment adviser providing investment management and financial planning across a national office network.

The current minimum question is straightforward:

  • Management account minimum annual fee: $2,500

The current maximum-fee question is not.

Allworth's March 2026 Form CRS states:

  • Form CRS asset management maximum: 1.85%

Its March 2026 Form ADV Part 2A states:

  • Part 2A maximum fee charged: 2.00%

Current services include:

  • discretionary asset management;
  • non-discretionary asset management;
  • financial planning;
  • tax planning;
  • estate and legacy planning;
  • insurance/risk services;
  • direct indexing;
  • separately managed accounts;
  • private equity and private debt;
  • real estate and real assets;
  • hedge-fund strategies;
  • structured and alternative investments.

May fit better for

  • households seeking coordinated planning and investment management;
  • clients without a large asset-minimum hurdle;
  • investors who want tax-aware portfolio management;
  • clients seeking direct indexing or SMAs;
  • eligible investors seeking private-market exposure;
  • households comfortable with an affiliated broker/insurance channel.

May fit less well for

  • small accounts for which a $2,500 annual minimum fee is expensive;
  • investors who want one completely standardized public fee;
  • clients who want no affiliated brokerage or insurance conflicts;
  • users who want all third-party manager and fund costs included in the advisory fee;
  • investors who need daily liquidity from private funds.

Allworth Financial, L.P. is the registered adviser

Current regulatory identity:

  • Investment adviser: Allworth Financial, L.P.
  • CRD: 111167
  • SEC number: 801-68255

The organization also includes AW Securities, a separate registered broker-dealer.

Some professionals can also hold insurance or brokerage licenses and receive commissions in those separate capacities.

---

There is no general household investment minimum

Current March 2026 Form CRS states that Allworth does not impose a minimum household investment amount to establish an investment-management account.

Private funds are different.

Current proprietary private funds require:

  • Private fund minimum: $250,000

---

Management accounts have a $2,500 annual minimum fee

Current March 2026 documents:

  • Minimum annual management fee: $2,500

$100,000

$2,500 ÷ $100,000 = 2.50%

$250,000

$2,500 ÷ $250,000 = 1.00%

These examples show the effect of the minimum.

They do not state that either relationship will necessarily be accepted or priced only by the minimum.

---

Current primary documents publish different maximums

Form CRS:

  • Retail asset management max: 1.85%

Part 2A:

  • Part 2A maximum fee charged: 2.00%

Allworth charges 1.85%.

Allworth charges 2%.

Actual percentage depends on:

  • account nature;
  • asset value;
  • signed fee schedule;
  • negotiation;
  • grandfathered/acquired schedule;
  • household aggregation.

---

Fees are billed quarterly in advance

Current disclosure:

  • Asset management billing: quarterly in advance

The calculation uses the fair market value of the client account at the previous billing-period end, subject to adjustment rules.

---

Asset-management clients do not pay a separate ordinary planning fee

Current Form CRS states:

  • Separate financial planning fee for asset management clients: No

For non-asset-management clients, fixed financial-planning fees can range:

  • Standalone financial planning fee range: $1,500-$30,000

---

Private funds add separate economics

Allworth currently manages proprietary private funds.

Current disclosures state:

  • Private fund minimum: $250,000
  • Private fund management fee: 1.50% of committed capital
  • Private fund admin fee range: 0.125%-0.250%

The Form CRS also warns of:

  • management fees;
  • performance fees;
  • partnership operating expenses;
  • general-partner fees.

---

Third-party advisers can add 0.05%-1.00%

Current Part 2A describes third-party adviser/platform fees that can range:

  • TPA fee range: 0.05%-1.00%

---

Both discretionary and non-discretionary services exist

The governing agreement determines trading authority.

---

Fidelity and Schwab are primary custody references

Current disclosures:

  • Custodian:
  • Fidelity
  • Charles Schwab
  • Allworth physically custodies ordinary brokerage assets: No

Custodian research, technology and referral programs can create economic benefits for Allworth.

---

Affiliated brokerage and insurance compensation require separate labels

Current Allworth disclosures identify AW Securities and insurance-related compensation routes.

---

Ordinary advisory accounts do not use performance-based fees

Current Part 2A:

  • Ordinary performance based advisory fee: No

Private funds can have performance fees.

Keep:

  • Private fund performance fee possible: Yes

separate.

---

Current scale is dated

Current 2026 consumer site disclosures show:

  • Public AUM: $39 billion
  • Client: 31,000+

March 2026 Part 2A reported approximately $33.55 billion as of December 31, 2025.

Store dates/definitions rather than treating the different dates as an error.

Assessment

Allworth's current review should lead with two distinctions.

First:

no general asset minimum does not mean no economic minimum.

The $2,500 annual management-fee floor matters for smaller accounts.

Second:

the two current regulatory documents publish different fee ceilings.

The correct treatment is to preserve the 1.85% CRS figure and the 2.00% Part 2A figure rather than silently selecting one.
