Overview

CAPTRUST is the principal trade name used by the SEC-registered adviser CapFinancial Partners, LLC.

Current March 27, 2026 Form CRS states:

  • Minimum annual fee possible: Yes

That is a material current-data guard.

Older CAPTRUST wrap materials can contain program minimums such as $50,000.

Those program-specific or legacy thresholds should not replace the current firmwide Form CRS statement that CAPTRUST does not require a general minimum account size.

Current standard wealth-management schedule for assets under $10 million at initial funding:

  • First 1m: 1.25%
  • Next 1m: 1.00%
  • Next 3m: 0.85%
  • Assets over 5m: 0.70%
  • Assets above 10m: negotiable

The schedule is progressive.

May fit better for

  • clients seeking a large national advisory organization;
  • investors who want discretionary portfolio management;
  • households seeking financial planning, portfolio management and family-office services;
  • clients who value no current firmwide account-size minimum;
  • eligible investors considering private funds or alternatives;
  • households comfortable with negotiated AUM pricing.

May fit less well for

  • investors seeking one low-cost automated portfolio;
  • clients who want one all-in fee;
  • users who confuse SMA minimums with CAPTRUST's general minimum;
  • investors who want no affiliated private-fund conflicts;
  • clients who want one universal custodian;
  • investors who need daily liquidity from every private investment.

Legal adviser and broker-dealer are different entities

Current Form CRS:

  • Investment adviser: CapFinancial Partners, LLC
  • Brand: CAPTRUST
  • CRD: 175112
  • SEC number: 801-62193

Affiliated broker-dealer:

  • Affiliate broker dealer: CapFinancial Securities, LLC
  • Broker CRD: 126291

Certain financial professionals can earn brokerage or insurance commissions in separate capacities.

---

Current Form CRS says no general account minimum

Current March 27, 2026 CRS:

  • Minimum annual fee for certain services possible: Yes
  • Minimum annual fee waivable: Yes

Schwab SMA programs can also have $100,000 or $250,000 manager-access minimums.

Those are not CAPTRUST's universal relationship minimum.

---

Standard 2026 AUM schedule is progressive

Effective January 1, 2026:

  • First 1m: 1.25%
  • Next 1m: 1.00%
  • Next 3m: 0.85%
  • Over 5m: 0.70%
  • Over 10m: negotiable
  • Schedule progressive: Yes
  • Fees negotiable: Yes

The actual advisory agreement can be higher, lower or waived.

Acquired clients can remain under legacy schedules.

---

Fee math at $5 million

First $1 million:

$1,000,000 × 1.25% = $12,500

Next $1 million:

$1,000,000 × 1.00% = $10,000

Next $3 million:

$3,000,000 × 0.85% = $25,500

Illustrative total:

$48,000

Average:

0.96%

This excludes product-level and outside-manager expenses.

---

Fixed-fee services use a separate range

Current Wealth Client Brochure:

  • Fixed fee annual range: $10,000-$250,000

Hourly family-office and ancillary services are negotiated.

---

Wrap and non-wrap accounts have different cost structures

Current disclosure:

  • Wrap accounts: Yes
  • Non wrap accounts: Yes

Non-wrap clients can pay:

  • CAPTRUST advisory fee;
  • separate transaction/brokerage charges;
  • custodian charges;
  • manager expenses.

Wrap fees can include ordinary transaction/custody components but underlying fund and product costs remain.

---

CAPTRUST generally manages discretionarily but also offers non-discretionary advice

Current Form CRS:

  • Discretionary management general: Yes
  • Non discretionary management available: Yes

---

Schwab, Pershing and Fidelity are major custody references

Current Wealth Client Brochure:

  • Custodian:
  • Charles Schwab & Co., Inc.
  • Pershing
  • Fidelity / National Financial Services

Clients can select other custodians.

CAPTRUST is not affiliated with the custodial broker-dealers merely because it has custody agreements.

---

Fidelity referral economics create a current conflict

Current Fidelity Wealth Advisor Solutions arrangement:

  • Fidelity WAS referral fee fixed income: 0.10% annually
  • Fidelity WAS referral fee other assets: 0.25% annually
  • Referral fee paid by CAPTRUST not client: Yes

CAPTRUST also pays a minimum annual program fee.

The arrangement can create an incentive to maintain referred assets at Fidelity.

It does not mean Fidelity supervises CAPTRUST's advisory work.

---

CAPTRUST manages affiliated private funds

Current 2026 disclosures include affiliated private funds such as:

  • One Brick private-equity/private-credit funds;
  • Homecourt;
  • Cobblestone funds;
  • other sub-advised private vehicles.

---

One Brick and Homecourt illustrate layered economics

Current disclosure:

  • One Brick CAPTRUST advisory fee: 10 bps/year
  • One Brick indirect incentive fee participation: Yes
  • Homecourt management fee for current CAPTRUST client LPs: 0.10%
  • Homecourt management fee for former client LPs: 1.00%

There is no public market expected for Homecourt interests.

---

Ordinary client accounts generally do not pay performance fees

Current Wealth Client Brochure:

  • Ordinary client performance based fee general: No
  • Affiliated private fund performance economics possible: Yes

CAPTRUST indirectly participates in certain OCredit incentive economics through One Brick and earns certain performance-based fees in connection with Cobblestone private funds.

Keep those private-fund economics separate from ordinary managed-account fees.

Assessment

CAPTRUST's most important current update is the minimum.

The March 2026 Form CRS says there is no general minimum account size, even though older or program-specific materials can contain $50,000 or larger thresholds.

The current 2026 standard AUM schedule is also unusually concrete for a national adviser.

The deeper cost analysis still requires attention to:

  • wrap vs non-wrap;
  • outside managers;
  • private funds;
  • custody;
  • legacy acquired fee schedules.
