TrendSpider: Platform Profile

TrendSpider is an advanced market-research and trading-automation platform built around technical analysis, scanning, backtesting, alerts, AI tools and strategy automation.

It is more automation-focused than a conventional charting package. Current functionality includes:

Company

TrendSpider LLC is an Illinois limited liability company. The platform was founded in 2016.

TrendSpider is a software provider. It is not a broker-dealer, bank, investment adviser or custodian.

Subscription structure

TrendSpider currently offers four principal platform tiers:

1. Standard
2. Premium
3. Enhanced
4. Advanced

All four plans provide access to the same broad platform feature set. The primary difference is capacity, including open workspaces, bots, alerts, backtest depth, support level and system limits.

Current pricing is highly promotion-sensitive, and temporary sale prices should not be treated as evergreen facts. The current pricing page shows undiscounted or base plan bands approximately beginning at:

• Premium: $91–$149/month
• Enhanced: $122–$199/month
• Advanced: $214–$349/month

Actual checkout depends on billing cycle, capacity or configuration, and promotional period.

Why the pricing bands matter

TrendSpider is not priced like a simple $15 charting app. Even at the low end of the regular ranges:

• Standard: $54 × 12 = $648/year
• Premium: $91 × 12 = $1,092/year
• Enhanced: $122 × 12 = $1,464/year
• Advanced: $214 × 12 = $2,568/year

Those are simple annualized illustrations using the low end of the currently displayed regular monthly references. They exclude promotional discounts, premium market data, Sidekick upgrades, SignalStack upgrades, third-party store products and taxes.

Market data costs

For non-professional users, current TrendSpider pricing includes real-time U.S. equities, ETFs, forex and crypto.

Additional current data charges include:

• CME, NYMEX, COMEX and CBOT futures data: $7.50/month for non-professionals
• OPRA options data: $9.50/month for non-professionals
• U.S. equity data for FINRA/SEC professionals: $29/month

Cboe indexes can be delayed depending on the feed, so not every market is free real-time data.

Charting

TrendSpider supports a large set of charting and analysis tools including:

Its differentiation is less about drawing a line manually and more about automating repetitive analysis.

Market Scanner

TrendSpider's Market Scanner can create dynamic watchlists based on combinations of price, technical indicators, candlestick patterns, chart patterns, AI models, fundamentals, analyst estimates, news, earnings, dividends, splits and relative performance.

The current system provides more than 70 built-in scans plus custom conditions. That is useful for systematic idea generation. It can also create false precision if a trader keeps adjusting scan criteria until historical results look attractive.

Strategy Tester

TrendSpider's Strategy Tester allows no-code or low-code historical testing. Users can define entry conditions, exit conditions, long or short logic, timeframe, historical depth and transaction-cost assumptions.

Current AI tools can help formulate conditions, refine strategies and explain backtest results.

A backtest is not evidence of future profitability. Major risks include overfitting, survivorship bias, look-ahead bias, unrealistic fills, regime changes and excessive parameter optimization.

Trading bots

TrendSpider supports cloud-based Strategy Bots. Bots can monitor conditions, trigger entries, trigger exits, send notifications, call webhooks and route signals toward brokers or exchanges.

TrendSpider does not execute the brokerage transaction itself.

SignalStack

SignalStack is a separate TrendSpider-developed order-routing product. The workflow is:

1. TrendSpider alert or bot triggers
2. webhook or order instruction is sent to SignalStack
3. SignalStack routes the instruction
4. connected broker or exchange executes the order

The current Trading Widget supports connected brokerage execution through SignalStack.

Current TrendSpider plans include up to five free automated SignalStack orders per month under the present pricing structure. Additional use can require a separate SignalStack plan, so unlimited automated brokerage execution is not bundled into every TrendSpider plan.

Sidekick AI

TrendSpider Sidekick is an AI market-analysis assistant embedded into the platform. Current core platform plans include 25 Sidekick messages per month.

Separate current Sidekick plans:

• Free: 25 messages, $0/month
• Basic: 100 messages, $49/month
• Plus: 300 messages, $129/month
• Max: 1,000 messages, $349/month

AI output is not verified market truth. AI-generated analysis, conditions, code and strategy interpretation still require user review.

Quant Model Lab

TrendSpider includes machine-learning-oriented tools for generating market signals. Current tools can include model training, feature engineering, model deployment to charts, alerts, scanners and bots.

The presence of machine learning does not turn a trading model into a predictive guarantee.

Custom indicators

TrendSpider supports JavaScript custom indicators and an AI coding assistant. This differs from TradingView's Pine Script ecosystem.

Users can code studies, build custom logic, use platform data and deploy logic across charts, scanners and alerts. The choice between JavaScript and Pine Script can matter for technically oriented users.

Broker execution

TrendSpider does not hold the brokerage account. It is not a broker-dealer or custodian, and it does not offer a direct brokerage account.

Orders go to the connected external broker or exchange through SignalStack or other webhook routing. Any SIPC, FDIC, CFTC segregation or crypto custody protection belongs to the actual connected provider, not TrendSpider.

Assessment

TrendSpider's value is not that it draws a better candlestick. Its strongest proposition is combining chart analysis, scanning, backtesting, AI, alerts, bots and broker-routing automation inside one workflow.

That power comes with cost and complexity. A trader who actively uses scanners, bots and systematic testing may replace several separate subscriptions. A discretionary investor who wants basic charts can easily pay hundreds or thousands of dollars annually for tools that are never used.

Automation reduces repetitive work. It does not reduce market risk.
