Overview
Crypto.com now operates one of the broadest consumer financial-product menus in the U.S. crypto market.
Current U.S. products include:
- 400+ cryptocurrencies in the Crypto.com App;
- Advanced/Exchange trading;
- staking;
- a custodial crypto wallet;
- a separate self-custodial Onchain wallet;
- U.S. stocks and ETFs through a securities broker-dealer;
- prediction-market and derivatives products through separate regulated entities;
- institutional qualified custody;
- IRA and mixed-asset products where eligible.
The breadth is real.
So is the risk of treating every Crypto.com product as though it came from one regulated entity.
It does not.
May fit better for
- users who want crypto, stocks, and other products in one app;
- investors who want a large supported-crypto menu;
- active traders who can use Advanced order-book pricing;
- users interested in staking;
- investors who value a separate self-custody option;
- U.S. stock investors who want commission-free fractional trading inside the same app.
May fit less well for
- users who assume the App's simple crypto quote uses the Advanced maker/taker schedule;
- investors who assume SIPC covers Crypto.com crypto balances;
- New York residents seeking ordinary Crypto.com App access;
- users who do not want to evaluate multiple affiliated legal entities;
- investors who assume conditional OCC approval means a national trust bank is already fully operational.
---
U.S. Crypto.com App availability
Current U.S. platform materials state that the Crypto.com App is available in:
- US states available: 49
- New York available: No
- Supported crypto: 400+
Territorial availability can differ.
Stocks, derivatives, prediction markets, staking, IRAs, and other products can have their own eligibility rules.
---
App pricing is quote-based and transaction-specific
Crypto.com's July 20, 2026 help article states that the App may charge an administrative fee when a user buys, sells, or otherwise transacts in cryptocurrency.
The fee can depend on:
- market conditions;
- promotions;
- volatility;
- liquidity;
- transaction circumstances.
The applicable administrative fee is shown in the trade preview.
The U.S. site also warns that spread and other fees can apply.
---
Advanced/Exchange order-book pricing is separate
Crypto.com's current Advanced/Exchange spot schedule was updated July 9, 2026.
Base tier without the qualifying CRO balance:
- Advanced spot level 1:
- Thirty day volume: < $10,000
- Maker: 0.250%
- Taker: 0.500%
Current examples:
- Advanced spot:
- Level 2:
- Volume: $10,000+
- Maker: 0.200%
- Taker: 0.400%
- Level 3:
- Volume: $50,000+
- Maker: 0.150%
- Taker: 0.250%
- Level 4:
- Volume: $250,000+
- Maker: 0.100%
- Taker: 0.200%
- Level 5:
- Volume: $500,000+
- Maker: 0.080%
- Taker: 0.180%
These rates are for the order-book product covered by the fee schedule.
They are not a universal Crypto.com App quote.
---
CRO balance changes Advanced pricing
The current Advanced fee schedule gives different pricing for qualifying CRO balances.
At the published threshold:
- Qualifying CRO balance: 50,000 CRO
the current schedule shows:
- Level 1 with CRO:
- Maker: 0%
- Taker: 0.4400%
The schedule can change.
It depends on the qualifying CRO balance and current program terms.
---
Forced-liquidation fee
The current Advanced fee schedule also states:
- Forced liquidation fee: 0.5%
This belongs to applicable leveraged/liquidation activity.
---
Crypto.com Stocks
U.S. securities are offered by:
- Securities broker: Foris Capital US LLC
- FINRA CRD: 282331
- SEC registered broker dealer: Yes
- FINRA member: Yes
- SIPC member: Yes
- Clearing services: Apex Clearing
Foris Capital is a separate entity from the Crypto.com crypto entities.
Current U.S. stock product states:
- Stocks and ETFs: 12,000+
- Stock commission: $0
- Minimum deposit: $0
- Fractional shares: Yes
- Minimum fractional investment: $1
The product currently markets 24/5 trading for eligible securities/features.
---
Stock SIPC protection is limited to the securities relationship
Crypto.com explicitly states that balances and crypto holdings outside Foris Capital are not covered by the SIPC protection applicable to Foris Capital securities accounts.
SIPC does not protect against:
- stock price declines;
- ETF losses;
- crypto market losses;
- poor investment selection.
---
App custody vs. Onchain self-custody
Crypto.com has two fundamentally different wallet models.
Crypto.com App
The App is custodial.
Crypto.com holds/manages the private keys on the customer's behalf under the applicable service terms.
Crypto.com Onchain
Onchain is self-custodial/non-custodial.
The user controls the private keys.
Current structured distinction:
- Crypto com App:
- Custodial: Yes
- User controls private keys: No
- Crypto com Onchain:
- Self custodial: Yes
- User controls private keys: Yes
- Crypto com account required to hold crypto: No
---
Staking
Crypto.com offers on-chain staking through the App for supported assets and eligible customers.
Reward rates can change.
Service fees can apply before rewards are credited.
Protocol activation and unbonding periods can affect liquidity.
---
Institutional custody is another separate entity
Crypto.com Custody Trust Company is:
- Legal name: Foris DAX Trust Company LLC
- Dba: Crypto.com Custody Trust Company
- Entity type: New Hampshire non-depository trust company
- Qualified custodian: Yes
- FDIC insured: No
- SIPC insured: No
It provides eligible U.S. and Canadian institutional custody services.
Its asset-segregation and qualified-custodian framework should not be described as the legal structure of every consumer App wallet.
---
National trust bank status — conditional only
On February 23, 2026, Crypto.com announced conditional OCC approval to charter:
- Proposed bank: Foris Dax National Trust Bank
- Dba: Crypto.com National Trust Bank
- OCC status: conditional approval
- Fully operational national trust bank status from this source: No
The company states that once fully approved, the bank would operate under OCC oversight.
"Crypto.com is now an OCC-chartered national trust bank."
The current source supports:
conditional approval, not completed final charter status.
Crypto.com Custody Trust Company's New Hampshire operations continue separately.
---
Crypto.com licensing is entity-specific
Crypto.com's U.S. licenses page lists group-level regulatory categories including:
- broker-dealer registration;
- DCO license;
- DCM license;
- MSB registration;
- state money-transmitter licenses;
- conditional national trust bank approval;
- non-depository trust company charter.
These belong to different companies.
"Crypto.com is SEC, CFTC, FinCEN, OCC, and state regulated as one entity."
Better:
"Crypto.com operates through affiliated entities holding different securities, derivatives, money-transmission, and custody registrations or charters."
---
Prediction markets and derivatives
Crypto.com offers U.S. prediction/event-contract products through separate regulated derivatives infrastructure where eligible.
This product is distinct from:
- spot crypto;
- the securities brokerage;
- Crypto.com Custody.
to event contracts.
Assessment
Crypto.com has become a multi-product financial platform rather than a single-purpose crypto app.
Its breadth is useful.
It is also the main reason the review has to be precise.
Three distinctions matter most.
1. App pricing is not Advanced pricing
The App can use a variable administrative fee and spread.
Advanced uses a maker/taker schedule.
2. Crypto is not stocks
Foris Capital is the securities broker-dealer.
Crypto balances sit outside that SIPC brokerage relationship.
3. Custodial App is not Onchain
The consumer App holds keys for the user.
Onchain gives the user control of private keys.
The platform is strongest for a user who wants broad product access and is willing to understand those layers.
It is weakest when the convenience of one interface causes the underlying legal structures to disappear from view.
